HKS compressor blowoff and bypass valves play an important part in your Lancer Evolution's turbo system because along with improving the performance of your vehicle they also increase the lifespan of the turbocharger.  The main role of any blow-off or by-pass valve is to stop compressor surge by relieving the compressed airflow that reverses direction as throttle closes.  HKS blowoff and bypass valves change the flow of the pressurized air, that is normally pushed backwards into the turbo compressor, into the intake stream or by venting it to the atmosphere.  Following this engine performance is increased to quicker turbo spool up, as the compressor speed is not slowed by the backward airflow.  The lifetime of the turbo is also increased, as its bearings are protected from the impact that is also produced by compressor surge.  Though many vehicles incorporate factory by-pass valves, they are often inadequate and quickly pushed pass their capable operating range as airflow levels are increased. 

Vehicle specific HKS Super Sequential Blow-off  Valve complete with all needed mounting flanges, brackets, and miscellaneous hardware for a bolt-on installation.

Please note that this item will not fit directly onto FQ models. Either the extra HKS intercooler hardpipe kit is needed or  an SQV seat welded into your FQ intercooler pipe kit.
